Why triathlon: | As an RN, I volunteered in the medical tent during Ironman Canada events, in both Penticton and Whistler, and was always inspired by the grit of the multisport athlete. In 2016 as an avid life-long runner, facing lots of joint wear and tear, I was encouraged by our son, and a friend, both of whom were competing in triathlon, to consider registering for an event. I have been racing since that time and love the training process and the excitement of race days. |
Favourite Event: | The annual Cultus Lake Triathlon. |
What’s on your Playlist: | I love music from the 70’s: Earth, Wind and Fire, Fleetwood Mac. |
Best Tip for a New Club Member: | I was very nervous when I joined PMC. My first club event was a group ride where I was warmly welcomed. I was made to feel comfortable even though I felt completely out of my comfort zone. Try to relax, and enjoy the process of “progress, not perfection”. We are all here to support each other. |
Tri Goal for 2025: |
I love the fitness journey, which includes training with friends found through PMC. My 2025 goal is to optimize my health and to continue training in all 3 triathlon disciplines. I am registered to race trail events with Coast Mountain, and 5 Peaks as well as compete in the Standard Distance Triathlon in Oliver, and at Cultus Lake. My goal is to have fun, remain competitive within my age group, and perform to the best of my abilities.
