| Why triathlon: | I used to be a competitive rower—you know, those skinny boats with someone at the back yelling at you. In 2007, I completed a rowing version of a triathlon (minus the bike and with the order completely switched) in the middle of an Iowa winter. It was… not that fun, to say the least.
Fast forward to 2015, when my sister-in-law challenged me to complete a sprint triathlon in Vancouver. I trained really hard and had the BEST time. Needless to say, I fell in love with the sport right then and there and have been hooked ever since. After a few more races, I realized I needed help with my swim, which led me to search for a club—and that’s when I stumbled upon an amazing one: PMC! |
| Favourite Event: | Cultus Lake has been my number one for years, but the Vancouver T100 might be taking the top spot. The organization, fully closed roads, and that picture-perfect finish line made it an unforgettable experience. I did the sprint in 2025 and loved it so much I signed up for the full distance in 2026. |

| Best Tip for a New Club Member: | Come to as many club events as you can. The camaraderie you’ll build, along with the tips and tricks you didn’t even know you were missing, are invaluable. Everyone in this club is incredibly welcoming and supportive, with a gentle dose of peer inspiration. |
| Tri Goal for 2026: | Complete my first long-course triathlon. Injuries have kept me from the 70.3 or T100 distance so far, but I have a strong feeling this is my year. I’m signed up for the Victoria Half and the Vancouver T100, with a few more races sprinkled in along the way. |
